What Is a Multiplier in Rebate Programs?
A multiplier increases the rebate a partner earns by a set factor when a condition is met - for example, a 2x multiplier that doubles the rebate on sales of a strategic product or to a new customer. Vendors use multipliers to direct partner effort toward priorities, paying disproportionately more for the behavior they most want.
Why it matters to IT channel partners. Multipliers can dramatically change which deals are most profitable, but only if the partner knows the condition and meets it on the right transactions. A partner unaware of an active multiplier can sell exactly what would have doubled the rebate without ever triggering it.
