What Is Transaction Matching (Rebates)?

Transaction matching is the process of linking individual transactions - purchases, sales, claims and payments - to the programs and rebate calculations they belong to, so a partner can confirm each was counted toward the right target and each payment reconciles to what was earned. It is the detail work that makes reconciliation trustworthy.

Why it matters to partners. Underpayments hide in the gaps between records: a payment that doesn't tie to a claim, a sale never counted toward a target, a duplicate that inflates a figure. Matching transactions surfaces those discrepancies as exceptions, so a partner can prove what they were owed line by line and recover what was missed - the core of auditing vendor payments.

Because reconciliation means proving paid equals earned. Matching links each payment and transaction to its program so any shortfall shows up as an exception to resolve.
