What Is Exception Management (Rebates)?
Exception management is the practice of automatically flagging the rebate records that do not reconcile - a payment that doesn't match what was earned, a transaction that won't match an order, a claim rejected, or data that fails a rule - and routing them for review so they can be resolved rather than ignored.
Why it matters to partners. Most rebate data reconciles cleanly; the money is lost in the small share that doesn't. Surfacing only the exceptions lets a partner focus on the records that actually need attention instead of checking everything by hand. Each resolved exception is usually a recovered underpayment, a fixed claim, or a corrected data error that would otherwise have leaked.

FAQ
Typically an underpayment, an unmatched or duplicate transaction, a rejected claim, or data that breaks a program rule - anything that needs a human to decide.
