What Is a Target-Based Rebate?
A target-based rebate pays out only when a partner reaches a specific, agreed target - a purchase value, sales figure or unit count - within the program period. Below the target, the partner earns nothing or a lower rate; at or above it, the rebate is unlocked, often on the full amount rather than just the excess.
Why it matters to IT channel partners. Target-based rebates are all-or-nothing at the threshold, which makes near-misses expensive: a partner short by a small margin can lose the entire rebate. Continuous visibility into progress against each target - and the value of closing the gap - is what protects this money.

FAQ
It depends on the program - many pay on the full qualifying amount once the target is reached, which is why crossing the line matters.
