Rebate & Incentive Mechanics

What Is an Adoption Incentive?

An adoption incentive rewards a partner for driving real customer usage of a product after the sale - deployment, activation, consumption or active seats - rather than the initial purchase alone. Common in subscription and consumption models, it pays when the customer actually uses what they bought, because usage drives retention, expansion and the vendor's recurring revenue.

Why it matters to IT channel partners. Adoption milestones can be worth significant money, but they are easy to overlook because they come after the deal closes. A partner who sells the product and moves on may never opt into or complete the adoption steps that unlock the incentive - leaving earned money on the table.

By usage signals such as deployments, active users, seats or consumption against program thresholds - not by the sale itself.
