What Is a Vendor Manager?
A vendor manager, within a channel partner, owns the relationships with the vendors the partner sells - negotiating terms, managing programs, and making sure the partner gets the most from each vendor's pricing, support and rebate programs. The role sits on the partner side, looking up at the vendors, not the other way around.
Why it matters to IT channel partners. The vendor manager is often the person responsible for capturing rebate value across vendors, and the one Rebates-On serves most directly. Without consolidated tooling, this role tracks dozens of programs by spreadsheet and portal. Partner-side rebate management gives the vendor manager one view of every program's targets, deadlines and payments.
