Channel Ecosystem & Roles

What Is a Partner Manager?

A partner manager, also called a channel account manager, manages the relationship between a vendor and its channel partners - recruiting, enabling and growing partners, and helping them succeed with the vendor's program. The role usually sits on the vendor side, working with a portfolio of partners to drive sales through them.

Why it matters to IT channel partners. The partner manager is a partner's main contact at a vendor, and a useful ally for clarifying program rules, targets and disputed payments. But the partner manager represents the vendor's interests, so the partner still needs its own independent view of what it's owed. Partner-side rebate management gives that view, and the evidence to back a claim.

Usually the vendor. A partner manager helps you succeed with their program, but represents the vendor's interests - so keep your own independent rebate view.
