Partner Programs & Tiers

What Is a Role Requirement (Certifications)?

A role requirement is the specific set of certified roles a vendor's tier demands - for example two technical engineers, one pre-sales specialist and a certified sales professional. It is more precise than a simple count: a partner can hold the right number of certifications overall yet still miss a tier because the certifications are in the wrong roles.

Why it matters to IT channel partners. Role requirements are where compliance gets specific, and where partners are caught out. Meeting a total without meeting the role mix leaves a hidden gap that only surfaces at review. Tracking certifications by role - not just by number - is what tells a partner whether it truly meets a tier. Rebates-On checks the role mix, not just the headcount.

Yes. If a tier needs certified roles in a specific mix, holding the right number overall but the wrong roles still leaves a gap that can cost the tier.
