What Is Inventory Data (Rebates)?
Inventory data records the stock a partner holds - what was bought in but not yet sold onward. It connects sell-in and sell-through, and underpins claims tied to stock, such as price protection or stock rotation, where a vendor adjusts value based on what the partner is holding.
Why it matters to partners. Inventory is where sell-in and sell-through reconcile: buying in to hit a rebate target builds stock that must eventually sell, and unsold inventory ties up cash and can erode the margin a rebate was meant to protect. Accurate inventory data lets a partner weigh a purchase-driven rebate against the carrying cost, and supports price-protection claims when a vendor drops prices on held stock.
