What Is Claim Backup (Rebates)?

Claim backup is the supporting evidence a partner submits with a rebate or fund claim to prove eligibility - purchase and sales records, invoices, POS data, serial numbers, proof of performance, and any documentation the program requires. It is what gets a claim approved and what defends it if a vendor audits the payout.

Why it matters to partners. Claims are rejected or clawed back for one reason more than any other: missing or weak backup. When the evidence is scattered or assembled at the last minute, claims stall, deadlines slip, and money already earned is forfeited. Keeping claim backup organized and attached to each claim makes filing fast and reconciliation defensible.

The vendor can reject the claim or claw back a payment later. Complete, organized backup is the difference between a paid claim and a lost one.
