What Is Reconciliation Time?
Reconciliation time is how long it takes a partner to verify a rebate payment against what it calculated as earned - measured in hours or days per payment, or per period across all vendors. It captures the effort of matching what arrived to what was owed and identifying any gap.
Why it matters to partners. When reconciliation is slow and manual, most payments simply go unchecked, and underpayments are never caught or disputed. Shortening reconciliation time means every payment can be verified, not just the largest, so variances surface as recoverable claims. It also closes the books faster and gives finance confidence the rebate income reported actually arrived.

Because doing it by hand across many programs is slow, so partners check only the biggest payments - and underpayments on the rest go undisputed.
