Sales, Pipeline & Deal Economics

What Is Deal Amount?

Deal amount is the total value of an opportunity - the sum of the products and services a partner expects to sell in that deal. It is the headline figure that drives revenue, sets the margin the deal can return, and determines how much the deal contributes toward a vendor's purchase or growth targets.

Why it matters to IT channel partners. Deal amount is more than top-line revenue for a partner: it is the input that decides which rebate band a deal helps reach. A deal that pushes total purchasing across a threshold can unlock a higher rebate rate on far more than its own value. Seeing the deal amount against every vendor's targets is how a partner spots those threshold-crossing deals.

Many vendor rebates pay only once total purchasing crosses a threshold, so a deal's amount can tip the partner into a higher band - earning more on the whole period, not just that deal.
